| EVOX RIFA GROUP OYJ NEWS RELEASE December 4, 2000, 10:00 a.m. EVOX RIFA WIDENS ITS PRODUCT RANGE AND MARKETS THROUGH COOPERATION Evox Rifa and Darfon Electronics, a part of Acer Group, have entered a cooperation agreement, according to which Evox Rifa begins to market Darfon’s ceramic capacitors. These products are widely used in several sectors of the electronics industry: from consumer electronics to telecommunications, from medical equipment to office automation. In the first stage, Evox Rifa sells Darfon’s products in Europe and later also in the U.S. The contract means considerable widening of the product range for Evox Rifa, improvement of customer service and the potential of new customer groups. The wider product range also supports Evox Rifa’s sales of current capacitor types to existing customers, such as automotive industry. Evox Rifa chose the Taiwanese Darfon as its partner because of their high product quality, short delivery times and comprehensive customer service. The agreement enables Evox Rifa to sell the world’s smallest ceramic capacitor, which was launched by Darfon this year. This product is requested e.g. by mobile phone manufacturers. Darfon will invest particularly heavily into the product groups that will be sold through Evox Rifa. In order to satisfy the needs of the markets, and especially in order to increase its market share, Darfon will quadruple the production capacity of these capacitors during 2001. Evox Rifa Group is a globally operating partner for electronics industry. The company designs, manufactures and markets capacitors for several industrial sectors. The plants are located in Finland, Sweden and Indonesia. The company has over 1300 employees. With turnover of approximately FIM 500 million Evox Rifa Group is the biggest manufacturer of capacitors in the Nordic countries and the sixth biggest in Europe.
