Free PCCAD software for Windows 95 or later.

PCCAD is a software program written specifically to aid the designer in selecting an Evox Rifa polypropylene capacitor for AC and pulse applications. After the user selects a proposed capacitor and inputs the ambient temperature and frequency range, PCCAD will accurately plot the maximum allowed RMS current on a graph. Other useful data is also available. Also included in the package is a program called Fourier which allows the user to draw a periodic waveform on the screen and obtain the RMS value and harmonic content. 

Additional information on specifying polypropylene capacitors is also available as a short tech note. It is highly recommended that this tech note be obtained either from here, or later in the "tech notes" section of this Web site. To obtain a copy of the PCCAD software please read the following. One may either download it directly or submit a request for a mailed disk.

• Once the file is downloaded execute it from within Windows 95 (or later). Follow the instructions on-screen. (Mailed copies have installation instructions included.)
